Bill Michaud

Bill Michaud grew up on a farm near Clyde in North Central Kansas.  He graduated from Kansas State University in 1998 with a B.S. in Hotel & Restaurant Management.  While at Kansas State, Bill began his career in hotel operations becoming the Food and Beverage Director of the Manhattan Holiday Inn hotel.   After graduation Bill advanced his career in hotel operations holding positions at franchised Holiday Inn hotels as Food and Beverage Director, Asst. General Manager and General Manager.    In 2002 Bill joined Parrish Hotel Corporation as Director of Operations in Topeka with oversight over 6 hotels with combined annual gross revenues in excess of $15 million.  Bill parted with Parrish Hotels in 2012 to develop the Sleep Inn and Suites hotel in Fort Scott, KS and is currently in the initial stages of development of a Holiday Inn Express hotel in Atchison, KS.

Bill, his loving, supportive, and  patient wife Jennifer, and their 2 children relocated to Fort Scott in 2012 to oversee the construction and day to day operations of the Sleep Inn Hotel.  

In addition to the Sleep Inn, Bill also acquired and operates the Empress Event Center and Extended Stay Guest House lodging facility also in Fort Scott.  Bill serves on the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the KSU Hotel/Restaurant Department Advisory Board, KS Restaurant and Hospitality Assn. Board of Directors and the Mercy Hospital Foundation Board.
