Casie Hermansson has taught in the English Department at Pittsburg State University since 1997.
In addition to her academic publishing, she is a keen writer for children and young adults. She has published magazine fiction, poetry and non-fiction articles for the K-12 market. She is also the author of two non-fiction books, one on parental guidance ratings in the media for 5th grade readers, the other a high school textbook on how to analyze the films of Clint Eastwood. She has had 15 "little books" accepted by Heinemann education, all fictions ranging from kindergarten to high school readership, and has self-published a picture book, Clever Milly.
She will speak on "How to Write for Children and Young Adults," focusing on the different markets, expectations, and resources.
